It's Gonna Be a Good Summer

The epic trip has gone and past. Me and my friend Brent went south of the border to Westport, WA this weekend. Needless to say it was a blast. The swell was nothing to brag about, but the weather was phenomenal, giving us a leg on the tanning competition. This pic is us in line at the border. I had the fortune to inform Brent that the Whitehouse was not in Washington state, but rather in Washington DC. It was a funny moment.

We knew this was gonna be a good weekend.

Brent checking out the swell at a spot called The Groins on Friday Night.

As you can see, the weather was nice, but this particular spot (the Jetty) is pretty much a big mess as far as the break is concerned. Later that day we went to the Groins, which had two clean breaks. Now that was a good time. The only downer is that there was about 25 people in the water catching a wave probably only 50-100 feet long.

Making Instant Oatmeal is an extremely complicated process that requires precise timing and intense concentration. Do not attempt this at home.

We ran into some bros who invited us to join thier rap group. We didn't quite make the cut.

We're pretty sure its after 12 ...

New Music

So my friend Sherre Plett is recording a new album, soon to be released. Rumor is that it's going to be absolutely amazing. I definately reccommend checking her out if you haven't done so already. I outright stole this picture from my friend Steve's blog, who's one of the producers of the album. Check it out.
  • Steven's Super Awesome Blog
  • Thats Jeremy, Sheree's husband. I think he's laying down a Bill Gaither track as a secret song. I look forward to hearing it.

    The Big Two-Four

So yesterday I celebrated the milestone of my twenty-fourth birthday. My friend Ange threw me a great party, and we all had a good time. Among various gifts I recieved (including a pair of socks), probably the most interseting was this book, "The Best Places to Kiss in the Northwest". The girls who gave it to me figured it was a 'typical Tom book.' I honestly have no idea what they're talking about. But the book is honestly pretty sweet, being more like a travel book, with the quircky twist of rating places, such as resteraunts, bed and breakfasts, and outdoor hideaways, on the basis of romanticity and sensuality. One excerpt will suffice: "Camille's [Restaurant] has been voted 'Victoria's Most Seductive Restaurant' in our personally conducted, highly scientific, two-person poll." I think I need to switch out of the art's program and into sciences.

    It's a bloody maze

So as I dive into the world of blogging (and it's corresponding buddy html if you want to have a decent looking blog) I've found that designing a blog is both extremely complicated and yet surprisingly simple at the same time. The difficult part is to figure out what you're reading. This is a picture of the source code for my blog - nothing fancy mind you. The cool part is once you've figured out what the code means, you can just cut and paste various bits of code in where you like. You can even be rather clever and go to a webpage you like and (under view clicking on 'view source') copy bits of code from thier webpage as well. What's the upshot of all this? There's alot of closet techno-geeks in our society.

    why fenestra

Fenestra is latin for window. I'm of the belief that nomatter how well you know somebody, the online world always gives you a window into a slightly different side of their personality. Perhaps they have a witty sense of humor that only comes out on msn. Or perhaps they betray themselves to be more of a geek than they seem just by the fact that they have a blog. All that being said, I think blogs are a window through which one can look into another, and see inside the person what has chosen to be shown.
